Dr. Eugene Tsozik

The Jiu-Jitsu Therapist

About

My name is Eugene Tsozik. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Kentucky and a BJJ Brown Belt under Nick "Chewy" Albin in Louisville, KY. I have been training BJJ since 2007.

Injuries are a major part of BJJ and as a Physical Therapist, I have realized how great of an impact they have on training and overall health. I am passionate about BJJ, training, and injury-prevention, and my goal is to educate and help those with the same passion for jiu-jitsu to keep them on the mats and doing what they love.

Physical Therapy and Rehab

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I specialize in treatment of out-patient orthopaedic conditions including sport-specific rehab for the neck, shoulders, elbows, hands, back, hips, knees, and ankles.

I have worked closely with my training partners at the gym for BJJ competitions and MMA competitions to assist with rehab, injury prevention, and overall health.

I have customized my treatment approach to apply strengthening, stretching, and manual therapy for treatment of BJJ-specific injuries and conditions.

I am trained in Functional Dry Needling and Level 1 Certified in both FMS (Functional Movement Screen) and SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) to allow for assessment of injury and provide a tailored and patient-specific treatment plan.

I am passionate about BJJ, training, and injury-prevention, and my goal is to educate and help those with the same passion for jiu-jitsu to keep them on the mats and doing what they love.
