Matt Betzold is a grappler and professional MMA fighter who trains out of Team Alpha Male. Dr. Chris Moriarty is a BJJ Black belt. Some of his main achievements in BJJ include becoming the IBJJF World Champion at Brown Belt, the IBJJF Pan American Champion at Brown Belt, and also the ADCC North American Trials Champion (in 2006). Dr. Moriarty is currently completing his residency in PM&R (Physical Medicine & Rehab). We discuss BJJ-specific injuries, injury prevention for BJJ, the growth and evolution of BJJ, his research and interest in studying BJJ-related injuries, and also his career and accomplishments in BJJ.
On this episode I am joined by Renzo Gracie Black Belt and Bellator MMA figher Haim Gozali. He is the first Israeli to hold the rank of BJJ Black Belt. He is a professional MMA fighter for Bellator and has an upcoming fight on November 16th at Bellator 188 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
